SUNDAY

2001, Grafarvorgur, Reykjavík, Iceland

This piece is meant to represent a staged state of mind. Sunday is stationary so Guðjón wanted to create a piece which represented stillness and calm. Sunday marks the end of the week, but also the start of a new one. The work is created from Corten steel and was a part of the Icelandic Sculptors’ Society’s exhibition, The Coastline, a project which started in 1998 and culminated at the Reykjavík Arts Festival in 2000.
