ONE SET - BARE BETWEEN

HARBINGER GALLERY

2017, Reykjavik, Iceland - Together with Jóhanna Kristbjörg Sigurðardóttir

The first exhibition in the series One Set is entitled Bare Between. Here the sapling Jóhanna Kristbjörg Sigurðardóttir & the oak tree Guðjón Ketilsson weave together their branches and create a delicious combination similar to the deeply-rooted chocolate bar “Eitt sett”/"One set". The idea behind this series is precisely to bring together two artists with different sets of experience in hope of opening up a channel for nutrients to float freely between them. Under the great blue dome, Guðjón & Jóhanna tinker between horizontal and vertical lines. Geometric shapes form a playground of communication where expectations and hopes burst out in a fertile tone, rosy cheeks and sparkling gazes. Around them the sea meanders in a zestful dance. The sky opens up the endlessness by its stoic calmness and in the distance the mountains stand bare between.

The exhibition series One Set included four two-person exhibitions in Harbinger in the year 2017.
